Monday, August 14, 2017 – Rest and Recuperation
I did not feel tiptop this morning. I don't think any of us did. But we slept late, had beer and pizza, and felt mostly human again. Carmen was the most motivated of us all and accomplished the act of ordering the pizza from Giant Pizza King. I told her, “Get a big one,” and in came a 28-inch behemoth that would barely fit through the door! We all had the pizza for lunch and dinner, and Tom and I ate it for the next two days!

Late in the afternoon, Brian and I were talking about heading to Ocean Beach, but about that time Chris called and said he wanted to stop by, since he and Kelsey petered out and missed coming over a couple of nights ago. That was cool too. So Chris and his friend Matthew came by for a while before the two of them headed to a Padres game.
You may be asking, did Chris already ditch his bride? Not at all. Kelsey is starting grad school at USC tomorrow and moved to Los Angeles today! Apparently, when they picked their wedding date, she'd planned to attend a different school, which starts a week later. Best laid plans... Anyway, Chris and Kelsey moved the majority of their belongings last week, ahead of the wedding, and he's to move the rest of it over the next couple of days and then join her in their new home in downtown LA. Busy month!

By the time Chris and Matthew left, our collective motivation for leaving the house was gone, and we never ventured farther than the back porch today. Carmen flies out tomorrow morning, and Brian and Mooney begin their road-trip home, but Tom and I still have two more days left in San Diego!
