Boston, Massachusetts to Knoxville, Tennessee

Vacation is over. Time to go home. But at least we start our day with more bacon!

The rental car return at Enterprise was quick and painless. The shattered glass of the rear-view mirror stayed in its housing, the rental people didn't notice, and they never billed me for it later. I'm glad they didn't pay any closer attention at turn-in than when they gave us the damaged car in the first place. Next time, we will check more closely ourselves before accepting a vehicle.

Oh, in case you're wondering - and I'm confident you are - we drove 1,045 miles.

Very long and slow security line at Boston Logan, a delayed takeoff, an even more delayed takeoff and terrible management from Delta in Atlanta, but we finally landed in Knoxville at 7:15 p.m., only 45 minutes late, after the whole ordeal. Flying is a terrible way to end a vacation.

To end on a brighter note, little Carlos the Cat was happy to see us return, and we were pleased to see him as well!

THE END.
