Route 66, Lake Mohave, homeward bound
My favorite little Arizona town
The sun was down last night by the time we reached Seligman, so we took another walk around town this morning to look at the US 66 kitsch in all its daylight glory. This little town makes the most of the nostalgia.

Rusty Bolt Gift Shop
Delgadillo's Snow Cap
Historic eatery and roadside attraction
We were able to drive a section of Route 66 from Seligman to Kingman, about 90 rural miles. A little store in the village of Antares offered some more silly photos.

Just before leaving Arizona, we stopped by Davis Dam on the Colorado River, which impounds the stunningly gorgeous Lake Mohave. The lake helps regulate releases from Hoover Dam and is part of the Lake Mead Recreation Area.
Beautiful blue Lake Mohave
It was a dull, dusty drive from Laughlin to Las Vegas, nothing but dirt and solar farms. The solar farms have further denuded the dusty land, causing excess dirt that then has to be cleaned off the panels. Nice going. Ever heard of the Dust Bowl?

Finally, we made it back to Las Vegas, where we turned in the Mustang at Enterprise and caught our Southwest flight back to Tennessee.
Home of the cheap flights
It was too late for a hotel shuttle by the time we arrived in Nashville at 12:40 a.m., so we caught an Uber to the Embassy Suites, where we'd left our car. With the late flight, we'd spend the night here and drive home tomorrow. Our park-sleep-fly deal got us the room for just 50 bucks, so we ended our trip with a luxurious bargain!
