Welcome to Tom and Jana's
June 2021 Arizona Journal!

Nine days of family, lakes, mountains, mines,
deserts, cacti, and Route 66

One of Tom's brothers moved cross-country not long ago to Prescott, Arizona, so we decided to visit him in his new home in the spring - of last year. Once again, the tedious circumstances of 2020 intervened, but eventually we were able to make the journey. Better late than never!

Jana and Tom in Prescott, Arizona

During our short trip, we spent time with Tom's brother Steve exploring Prescott, including Thumb Butte, the Granite Dells at Watson Lake, Goldwater Lake, Lynx Lake, and The Palace Saloon; visited the historic mining town of Jerome, Tuzigoot National Monument, Montezuma Castle National Monument, and Saguaro National Park; drove up Mount Lemmon with Tom's cousin Marie and her husband Diego; toured a Titan II missile silo preserved from the Cold War; visited Chiricahua National Monument; drove through the largest copper mine in North America and along the Coronado Trail Scenic Byway; visited Petrified Forest National Park and the Painted Desert; and got some kicks on Route 66.

There's a lot more to see and do in Arizona. We shall return!
