After a relaxing morning at John and Kathy's, the four of us loaded up and headed to nearby Norwalk, Connecticut, to stroll along the Norwalk River near where it empties into the harbor. The weather was absolutely gorgeous.
We walked an easy 2 miles or so along the Norwalk River Valley Trail through Oyster Shell Park and down Main Street before deciding it was time for lunch. The food at Cantina Mexicana was excelente! Highly recommended.
By this point, we'd worked up quite a thirst and next found ourselves at Spacecat Brewing Co., still in Norwalk. They had lots of beers we wanted to try, so we each got our own flight. Great beer and a fun time!
Obviously, we were thirsty again by the time we returned to Ridgefield. I mean, it took like half an hour to drive there from Norwalk, so what do you expect? John and Kathy suggested Nod Hill Brewery, not far from their house. With such nice weather, we sat out in the biergarten. It was a beautiful setting, and the beer was delicious.
Dinner: Take-out from Genoa Deli & Pizza back at John and Kathy's. Best pizza we'd had in a long time. Great day!
